From festivals to recitals to competitions, we offer a range of events to help your students grow. More information can be found in the email from your Branch President.
Musical Seasons Festival
Each year, a different musical category is showcased (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th/21st Century). Students perform a piece from that category on a recital and receive a certificate for participating. After completing all four categories, they are awarded a Diploma of Completion and a medal.
Los Altos Branch Piano Competition
This competition gives students the chance to gain real experience in a supportive, low-stress environment. Two pieces of contrasting style are performed for a judge. Each participant receives constructive written feedback and ribbons are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places and Honorable Mention.
Spring Recital
Open to all students studying with Los Altos Branch MTAC teachers, the spring recital provides performance experience for students of all ability levels.
Senior Award
Graduating high school seniors who have completed the equivalent of Level 7 of Certificate of Merit are eligible to receive a $250 honorarium by submitting an essay describing their accomplishments and explaining what music means to them. Awards are given to the top three essay submissions.
